Ascent Trip ReportOur trip began about 9:15 am. We took the the Pine Bend Brook trail and were planning on hitting Whiteface and then camping out. Although it rained lightly, it was pretty steady. We reached Passaconaway and decided to set up camp and get dry. I was soaked and extremely cold. I couldn't wait to get some dry cloths on and get into to my sleeping bag for warmth. Once we set up the tent, I slipped off my soaked cloths and put on warm sweatpants, and warm sweatshirt. I set up my pad and sleeping bag and slipped into to it to get warm. I feel asleep for a short time and awoke to Michale and Andrew talking about our new dining room( a tarp covered area. We hung out for the rest of the evening under a tarp and had dinner. We went ot bed early and woke up in the late evening to listen to the Red Sox game (game 3 in the World Series against the Colorado Rockies) on the radio. There was an amazing full moon that night. That was a good sign since the clouds had given way to open sky with stars ablaze. Hopefully it would mean a nicer day the next day to make up some ground. I slept fairly well, but woke up a little cold.
