Ascent Trip ReportIf you want a quick, easy county highpoint, Dumpling Hill is the one. The hill is located on private property, but the landowner was very nice about allowing me access, even though it looked like I woke the owner from a nap! The only problem I experienced was determining the actual highpoint. I went to the mound my GPS directed me, west of the landowner's home, but another mound a few dozen yards away looked higher. I hiked there and looked back to the original mound and discovered that it looked higher. It really doesn't matter which mound is higher. You can easily visit both in just a few minutes and be on your way again. I enjoyed a sunset from Dumpling Hill, barely making its appearance through a severe looking storm to the west, before I left.
