Ascent Trip Report

Camped up at about 10,300' on 4wd road on way to upper TH on South Mt. Elbert trail. We struck out at about 7:00 and slowly made our way toward the summit. Should have spent an additional day acclimating as we had only made it to CO the day before. Sleeping at the higher elevation seems to have helped us get up though. We joined a crowd of people up on the summit at about 11:30 AM. Spectacular views and a great mountain hike. Loved it. On to explore Vail the next day.
