Ascent Trip Report

This is a pleasant drive-up from downtown Roanoke that would be nice to bag at night. There's a webcam to capture the moment.

The 88-foot high star atop Mill Mountain is said to be the world's largest freestanding illuminated man-made star. That's a lot of qualifiers. El Paso has a 459-foot illuminated man-made star, but evidently it is not freestanding.

BM has been chiseled out of the summit outcropping.
