Ascent Trip Report

A Woods Track and a bushwack from the south side ..... 4.4 km, 1 3/4 hour RT.

I approached this hike from the Canadian side. My TH was the Gated Woods Track on the east side of hwy 161, located .4km north of the USA/Canada, Woburn/Coburn-Gore Border Crossing, or 4km south of the Hwy Junction 212/161 in Woburn, QC.

I walked/climbed the good Woods Track northbound about 1.25km to T-junction (a white trailer on the right), then left on a lesser Track (290 degree compass) .6km to a Y-Junction where I started my bushwack.

I took/climbed a 30 degree compass line in open deciduous woods about 150 Meters to the ridge, where I stayed right (east) and followed the ridge about 200 meters to the Boundary Line swath (going over a number of bumps, the woods floor is overgrown with tall ferns) ....the cast iron Monument 428 is located at a height-of-land amid tall ferns, 20 yards eastbound on the Canadian side of the swath is a yellow Witness Post Survey Marker.
From Monument 428 I walked back (west) inside the Quebec woods 40 meters to the first bump, where I picked the highpoint for this Peak at a rock, my GPS read 45.39144, 70.82432.

I drove home after this hike, Hwy 212 to 10, arriving in late afternoon.
