Ascent Trip Report

I approached Vinegar Hill Northeast from Hwy 7 and Middle Fork Road (FR 20). Zero your odometer and drive 2.4 miles on Middle Fork Road to a signed road on the right for Vinegar Hill. At 8.8 miles take the left fork, at 10.4 miles the road becomes more rough, at 14.9 miles go straight and the road becomes much rougher and rocky, 4WD, High Clearance, Good Tires are a must. At 15.3 miles a herd of red cows blocked the road, but eventually moved and at 16.1 miles I parked near the summit of Vinegar Hill. It is an easy short scramble up to the rocky summit of Vinegar Hill. Great views. The purpose of this ascent was to climb Vinegar Hill Northeast, so that is where I hiked from here.

Hike down to a saddle to the east on the abandoned ATV track, and then turn northeast and towards the summit. It is easy hiking over to another saddle and then up to the summit. Good views all around.
