Ascent Trip ReportShortly after leaving the main trail, the abandoned trail passes a nice pond. In the area of 3800 to 3900 ft, watch for trail to switch back to the left suddenly. If you haven't seen the trail for more than 100 feet, you need to go back and look some more. Lots of trees to climb over and the brush hides the tread at times but if you can stay on it, the old trail definitely makes life nicer. We finally lost the trail in the SW basin below the summit ridge at about 6800 ft, but from there you can see your way. Only patches of snow left on the SW side. Last water found was below the abandoned trail to climbers right in the vicinity of 4200 ft in a nice little wooded basin that someone could concievably camp in.
