Ascent Trip ReportToday we did a traverse of three peaks in the Southern Presidential Range.
We started out near the AMC Highland Center on the Webster-Jackson Trail, and took the branch of the trail that led up Mt. Jackson. After scrambling over the final steep section of trail, we rested at the Jackson summit for 10 or 15 minutes. Next we continued along the AT/Webster Cliff Trail until we reached the Mizpah Spring Hut, where we refilled our water bottles. From there, it was a reasonably easy climb along the AT up to Mt. Pierce, where we paused again and saw Mt. Eisenhower looming above us. We followed the AT/Crawford Path up to Eisenhower, and that summit was the highlight of the day. After enjoying views back toward Pierce and north toward Mt. Washington, we hiked the 3+ miles down the Edmands Path to where we car spotted.
I enjoyed learning from this experienced group of hikers.
