Ascent Trip ReportAbsolutely perfect day. Stayed overnight in truck camper at Elkwater, Alberta (beautiful little park and lakefront), and then drove along range/township roads per GPS guidance to the closest road access. Hopped the small barbed wire fence and then walked the short distance to the highpoint. Road condition was excellent both in from Alberta and also out through Saskatchewan. Although a 4x4 was taken, complete with sizeable camper, essentially any vehicle can handle the roads, which are well-maintained gravel and not particularly "steep" as other reports suggest. The only exception to this guidance would be in conditions of significant rain or snow, which may well make sections relatively impassible (esp. from Sask. side) for all but more experienced logging road or off-road drivers.
Next stop for the day was the Manitoba highpoint...rolled in at around 11PM.
