Ascent Trip Report

Kelly and I hiked Gunstock and Belknap, starting from the parking lot near the end of Carriage Road. We hiked the Blue Trail about 0.5 miles to the intersection with the white-blazed trail, which we took toward the left, 0.4 miles to Gunstock. The trail came out onto a ski run, which we took up to the summit near the top of a chairlift. We then backtracked along the white-blazed trail and then took the blue-blazed trail up to the Belknap Mountain summit. We followed the red trail down from Belknap back to the parking lot to complete the 2.5 mile hike.

We had great weather today, and at Gunstock we saw nice views from the deck outside a pub (closed for the season) near the summit. The chairlift was operating, and we saw a couple of small groups of tourists unloading, and another group load for the ride down the mountain.
