Ascent Trip ReportPart 2. After summiting mt cosgriff solo via the south face after losing the black cloud trail i continued along the southeast ridge to south elbert. I had alot of fun on this ridge becuase in stead of hiking along the center of the ridge I went on the north side of the ridge and climbed the snow that was still there. When I would get off of the snow I still stayed on the north side of the ridge and did some pretty loose rock climbing which was a fun alternative to the standard southeast ridge hike. After getting back on to the ridge I hiked, still solo up to the summit of south elbert. At this point I had a headache but it was not horrible sever, and I was able to tolerate it. I signed the register, ate some lunch and continued on my way to the summit of mount elbert. This trip report continues on Mt. Elbert ascent.
