Ascent Trip ReportI met a couple hiking out when I went in, but then later they came up behind me during my ascent. Turns out they had turned around after entering trailhead because there was a bear!! They said nothing to me and figured it was safe to follow me. I found super fresh bear scat in the middle of the trail, but personally saw no bears:(
This couple ended up rescuing me when we arrived back at the parking lot @7:45pm and found a flat tire. I was parked 2.5 miles at the end of Haystack rd. and there was only one other car there (possibly overnighters). My BOCH "Certified" used car did not come with a Jack, so the good people used their AAA to summons air for the tire. Very slow leak, so I made it home ok.
Trail Conditions:
Dry Trail, Good Grade, Fantastic Views (especially from South Twin), Cool Temps and Moderate bugs. Great day to bag #17 & 18.
