Ascent Trip Report

Mountain slopes are surrounded by extensive mining projects. Climbed south side from a high clearance road off the Cortez-Beowawe road near Garden Gate Pass. There is a road to summit antennas but I am not sure if they are private mining roads or how to access them. A high clearance vehicle can get to 7000ft on the south side "Dry Hills" area, after this the road climbs steeply (4wd)to 7300ft. From here I hiked cross country .25 miles up to a saddle at 7600ft and hiked along a graded gravel mining road for about 1.5 miles(marked private road on topo maps), to point 7666ft. from there I followed a rougher road to the summit.
High clearance "Dry Hills" road at 6450ft posn:40.07718N,116.53674W, is where I started the hike.
