Ascent Trip Report

My first solo hike of any significant length. The forecast was 100F in Boston, so I headed to the mountains. Good choice, it never got over 75F the entire hike! I started and ended at the Darmouth College Lodge - lovely place!! Headed up Gorge Trail to the Summit, then over the carriage road towards the South Peak (via a spur trail), and finally back to the lodge via Snapper Trail. Besides some extra mileage due to missed trail intersections, everything went really well! Did the loop in about 5.5 hrs, including the extra one hour hike due to the two missed trails... There were good views in all directions, despite the looming clouds above. There was a threat of thunderstorms but I never saw one. Barely met any people on the trails, and only a few at the Moosilauke summit, nobody at all at the South Peak.
