Ascent Trip ReportJuly 16-17, 2011 Sierra Club SPS Backpack from South Lake (9,678’) trailhead, backpacking to Bishop Lake (11,200’) and set up camp followed by an afternoon exploratory hike up Bishop Pass. Happy hour at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner and lights out at 9:00 PM. On Sunday, broke camp and started hiking at 7:00 AM up Bishop Pass (11,972’) then started the climb up the west face of Mt. Agassiz up to 13,000’. We had to abort the climb due to snow conditions and an inaccessible Class 2 route. (Bishop Bass Trail Map – Tom Harrison).
