Ascent Trip Report

The gate at Albion basin was not open. We had to hike an additional 2 miles each way just to get to the trailhead. This made the hike worthwhile.

Cole, Taylor and Talon joined me on this hike. They were so excited that Taylor and Talon were on their first 'Mountain'. :)

Cole and Taylor made it with no problem. This was Taylor's first summit!!! There was still a lot of snow. Towards the top I had to kick steps up a very steep wall of snow which was very slippery. About 3/4 of the way up Talon lost his footing and slid harmlessly to the bottom. He screamed and cried the whole way down. No harm caused other than getting very wet and cold. We parked him at a rock and summited about 30 minutes later. Pretty windy at the summit. We followed the Great Western Trail for the last 1/4 mile. It was a great day and exciting to see how well Taylor did and that he really enjoyed it. This was Cole's 4th summit. This stuff makes me a proud and happy father!!!
