Ascent of Snow Hill on 2011-07-14| Date: | Thursday, July 14, 2011 | | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | | Motorized Transport to Trailhead: | Car | | Peak: | Snow Hill | | Location: | USA-Connecticut | | Elevation: | 1200 ft / 365 m |
Ascent Trip ReportI parked at the parking lot off of Hwy 191 (Buckley Hwy) and followed the road to the summit. The actual high point is within the fence for the FAA radio towers.
The road has some nice vegetation lining the road and there are some benches, picnic tables and interpretive signs along the way.
This is within the Laurel Preservation and I imagine that the scenery is breathtaking when the laurel is in bloom. As it is, it is worth parking at the bottom and making the short walk to the summit.
