Ascent Trip ReportAfter coming down from Wright Peak there were several groups of people down at the junction and it felt a bit chaotic to me so I got back on the main trail and kept on moving figuring my lunch would be more rewarding on the summit anyways. I have always enjoyed hiking above treeline more than being under cover in the woods and in the short amount of time that it took to come down from Wright and head up Algonquin, the clouds had cleared and I could cleary see the summit that I had just been on. As usual, I met many nice people and shared a laugh with a couple trying to coax their big dog down a little rock section and he just looked at them with a "you've got to be kidding" look. It was priceless and reminded me of why I put myself through the work of climbing these mountains...aside from the views and the exercise, it's to meet other people and enjoy life. Sometimes when my shirt is soaked with sweat, I'm starving, and just keep pushing to top the mountain, it's nice to have a laugh and remember I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't love it. I got to the top, met Devin (the summit steward assigned to Algonquin for the day) and put my new camera to work. Lunch was spent on the SW part of the summit leaning up against a rock and looking down at my last high peak for the day: Iroquois.
