Ascent Trip ReportThere are 3 candidate high point areas in this county per below, also Jackson Hill is considered an alternate (see its TR).
TWO POINTS ON CALL HILL ROAD
EASTERN POINT ..... from hwy 248, south of Canisteo, we drove west on Call Hill Road 2.86 miles to a farm road on the left (about 100 yards past the crest-of-the-road). I walked 80 yards south to the high ground and chose my spot at 15 yards to the left, GPS 42.21236, 77.66009. An area south of the Call Hill Road crest could contend for the high ground of this area.
WESTERN POINT ..... we continued west on Call Hill Road 1.49 miles to the driveway on the left for the large Communication Tower near the road. We parked here.
I walked south in the tall grass about 200 yards to the top of the ridge, just east of the tall Communicatiion Tower on the ridge, then east on the ridge 100 yards towards the tree line. I came back and chose my spot near the guy-wire-anchors east of the tall Tower, GPS 42.21147, 77.68867.
ONE POINT AT FLYNN/RIDGE ROAD AREA.
From Call Hill Road we drove south on the paved CR61 (crossed hwy 414), where CR61 makes a sharp turn left, stay straight on the dirt Flynn Road 150 yards to a sharp turn right (west), an overgrown grass tracks heads left at this corner, parked here.
I walked west on Flynn Road 20 yards and entered the woods to the left (south)..... open woods floor. I walked the area and chose my spot 100 yards south of my car park, Gps 42.10845, 77.71602.
