Ascent Trip ReportA woods track from Post Creek Road ........ 700 yards, 25 minutes RT.
The driving directions in Fallesen's book and other reports are all good so no need to take up more space in PB. We found our way to the top corner of Post Creek Road (road goes north to east) and house #449 on the west side of this corner. We parked here, the summit is at about 250 degrees "Compass Line" from this corner.
We went to the house for information ...... the lady didn't own the summit and didn't know "What was back there", she however gave me permission to start out from her property, the woods on the drive here are all "Posted".
From the van I walked the grass lawn 100 yards to the left/west corner of the #449 property, where I entered the woods on my "Compass Line" to a white post at 50 yards. A good track leads right/left directly to the summit area at another 200 yards.
The summit is a large open maintained area which appears to be a Religious Recreation Area for young people ...... religious signs, picnic tables, cross, swings, etc, a driveable track comes in from the north side.
I chose my spot near a large tree with a swing at GPS 42.24247, 76.93153.
On the way out I stopped-in at the house to thank the lady once again and inform her of "What was back there".
"THE MOUNTAIN WILL ALWAYS BE THERE, THE TRICK IS TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE TOO."
