Ascent of Black Butte on 2011-07-05
|Date:||Tuesday, July 5, 2011|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Motorized Transport to Trailhead:||Car|
| Elevation:||7448 ft / 2270 m|
Ascent Trip ReportSome large patches of snow on the ground near the end of the forest service road caused me to take a route up the east side of the peak, which was a faint use or animal trail, leading to a short scree and boulder hop to the summit. Only upon reaching the summit, did I notice the regular trail leading down the northwest side. So don't follow my GPS track, unless you want to add a little spice to an otherwise straightforward hike.
