Ascent Trip Report

This was my 50th state highpoint. According to the Highpointer's Club, I was the 100th individual to reach the highest point in each state. I climbed Mauna Kea with a large group from the Club and we did a sea to summit climb that required two long days of hiking. In fact, a few members of the team, including myself, took a dip in the ocean to do a sub-sea level to summit climb! It was a very proud moment for me to finally stand on Mauna Kea's summit. My 50th state highpoint quest required 14 years to complete.
