Ascent Trip Report

Great hike on my first full day of a Black Hills family trip. My brother and I were on the trail by 6:30 AM and didn't seen anyone else until we were most of the way back down. Some great views farther up, although be warned that there is a lot of tree loss due to beetles. Deer all over, marmots up top. Relatively easy, but we were sweating the last 1/4 mile or so, where it appears to go straight up.
