Ascent of Piper Peak on 2011-06-12

|Date:||Sunday, June 12, 2011|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||9450 ft / 2880 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe road through McAfee Canyon is remarkably good- I got my Honda Civic over 7000' and could have gone further, but I wanted some exercise and was getting concerned at finding a place I could park (the road is often 1.5 lanes wide with steep curbs).
Once parked the hike up was good, though the rocky ground and sometimes plentiful bushes kept it interesting. Navigation would have been challenging in parts without a GPS. The not-yet-full register dates back to 1986.
