Ascent Trip ReportDenise, Val, Steve, Nancy and I hiked at Dix Range on 6/4/2011. Since I hiked to E Dix from Rt73, I was thiking to skip it. 5 hikers including me went to Macomb first, then, South Dix. We started to hike 6:40am or so and reached to South Dix around 9AM which was really good steady pace hike. At this point, I told other hikers I will skip E Dix and I started solo hike to cover the rest of peaks, Hough, Dix Peak. I reached to Dix Peak at 5 min before noon. I spent 30-35min at the summit to eat lunch and fruit dessert. Then, I hiked out to Beckhorn, then, took foot trail to go back to Elk Lake. I think I spent 8.5 hours for this hike. It was beautiful day hike and I enjoyed 360 degree views from the summit
