Ascent Trip ReportOn 5/28/2011, Ken and I had a plan to hike Allen Mountain, however, hiking event organizer didn't show up over 50min. So we decided to take a look at broken suspension bridge at Oplascent River. On 27th and 28th morning, it was heavily rainning and level of water was very high as well as current is high speed. So we decided NOT to hike Allen and changed the plan to Santanoni Range hike. I hiked at Couchie Feb this year as Winter hike and I have no idea trail looks like w/o snow. Most of trail sections are actually on top of brook. It was muddy, watery trails almost everywhere. Once we reached to Herald Square, we aimed North which is to peakbag Panther first. On the way back to H.S. from Panther, we met Steve and Charlie who were trying to hike with us. So we waited for them at H.S. by eating lunch. Now, there are 7 hikers and we all agreed to go to Couchie next. It was raining at that time and we all soacked and wet. When we aimed Santanoni Peak, none of us really cared about how wet we were. A lot of water got in our boots, so we didn't mind stepping on muddy area. We finally reached to Santanoni Peak after Couchie. Then, we hiked out on New-Old-Path to get back to the trail which we used in the morning.
