We parked at High Point and walked west to the junction marked "High Point Trailhead" on the map, where we took the signed trail uphill. Just beyond the 750' switchback we headed cross country (unpleasant bushwhacking) to try to access the summit via county lands. This we were able to do, though I wouldn't want to repeat the hike. We eventually stumbled across the surveyor's path between markers setting out the private lots; this path was much easier going.
We checked out both closed contours; it appeared that the summit was about where marked on the map on this site.
The going would be much easier via Grand Ridge Road and cross country a short distance from pavement, if access were permitted. We could see the road from the top.
