Ascent Trip Report

I headed up the Yerba Canyon Trail on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Met a forest ranger descending who was evaluating the trail to plan future maintenance. This is a steep trail up a scenic canyon with many stream crossings. It gets heavy use near the trail head, but on several visits I've never seen anyone else once I got above 10,000 feet. As I had expected I got turned back by deep snow just below the ridgeline.
