Ascent Trip ReportHiked up Calkin's Brook to Donaldson, then Emmons, then over to Seward and down Seward herd path to Ward Brook Truck trail. Beautiful views of Long Lake and the Eastern High Peaks. The Calkins Brook path was pretty easy, compared to the very rugged, steep, rocky and muddy Seward trail from the truck trail. On the descent, I took two spills right flat on my face. Hit my left shin on rocks, which still bear the bruises to talk about today. By time we got to the trailhead it was dark out.
