Ascent Trip Report

Hiked Porter and Cascade in the morning, then zipped over to Lake Luzerne to hike Hadley Mtn late in the afternoon. I got to the trailhead of Hadley around 5pm, and was concerned about there being enough daylight for the round-trip (I had no headlamp and have never hiked in the dark at the time). The day was warm, and the hike was a pretty good, steady ascent up to the top; good heart-thumper! On the way up, met a gentleman hiking with his young son, whose heel was starting to get a blister; gave him some moleskin to help. We hiked together to the top and went up to the firetower. The man was a twice-over ADK 46er and knew the summits like the back of his hand, pointing them out like he had a map in his head.
Got out as the sun began to set. A very long and very good day!
