Ascent Trip ReportA drive up to a no access site.
From the Manhattan High point we found our way to the Grand Central Parkway eastbound and exit #24, Little Neck Pkwy. At the first intersection we stayed straight (east) on the south side Grand Central Service Road (instead of turning on Little Neck Pkwy) and drove 300 yards to the crest of the road and the private fenced in golf course on the right. The highground is just inside the fence.
We continued on the Service Road a few hundred yards to the first entrance on the right (to tall apartment buildings), where the security guard denied entry .... he told us that this is a private club and written approval from the manager is required.
On the drive to the crest of the road we had noticed that there was an open gate 30 yards before. We decided to check it out, so we drove back and parked at the open gate, I walked to the high ground and was about to return when 2 workers came up to me, telling me that I needed permission to be in the Golf course. I returned to the car.
