Ascent Trip ReportLots of exposure. Convection in area, rained on summit not in parking area. Trail is well maintained and well marked but this hike is technical for North Carolina. Lots of fixed ropes and ladders to assist with steeper sections. Summit access can be obtained from the north side via the Blue Ridge Parkway and from the south side via a road to a parking lot on Grandfather Mountain Ridgeline. Distances are time are approximate.
