Ascent Trip Report

I let Mt Hunger hike on 5/8/2011 and 8 hikers joined.
We used Waterbury Trail which is relatively short but very steep.
Up to 2900-3000 feet elevation, there was no snow. The trail is much more dried than I originally anticipated.
Abveo 2900-3000 feet elevation, I started to see considerable amount of snow. Microspikes helped to both hike-in and hike-out.

Less than 0.1 miles from the summit, trail gets sun shine, so there was no snow again. The summit provides very nice view and we took a picture with the background of Mt Mansfield.

It was fun hike. This was the 3rd time I hiked here. At the first time, I failed. I didn't have any gear in April 2010 and Waterbury trail was very icy and slippery. So I decided to bail out. 2nd time, I did Worcester Range hike and I was successful but I didn't use Waterbury Trail. This time was 3rd time and I was successful with Waterbury Trail w/ Microspikes.
