Ascent Trip ReportI hiked Irish with Dean Molen. He drove, so I have no driving directions. The drive is not difficult and we found our way to Logan Pass where we parked. Dean has put up a nice page on Summit Post for this peak. http://www.summitpost.org/mount-irish-nv/714172.
From Logan Pass we hiked north up the ridge. The ridge gets rocky and we stayed on our near the ridgetop until we could approached a cliff band above us. We were trying to see a way to climb over the cliff when Dean noticed a slot off to the right that looked easy. We climbed to the left of the ridge and then crossed the little drainage near the top and found the slot through the vertical cliffy area that was only Class 2. From the top of the cliff band turn left, do not climb the slope up to point 8501 ahead of you. Hike around to the left and enter a nice little valley where should be able to see the commm towers on the summit of Irish. We hiked around the drainage and then directly up the steep south slope of Irish to the comm towers. Great views in all directions.
