Ascent Trip ReportOne of the more spectacular rocky ridges in this area of Quebec, similar to Mont Ham, climbed up a ski run from the south side Ski Resort ..... 4km, 2 hour RT.
From Thetford Mines hwy intersection 112/267, travel south on 267 for 14.5km to a left on Route Mont Adstock then 1.75km to the Ski Resort parking area. We parked near the west end, this was my TH, the summit is to the west. Any Ski Run from the parking will take you to the east-west ridge.
I chose to climb the furthest west Ski Run "Defi Adstock", as it climbs west/north to the ridge at approx 1km, arriving just west of the Ski Lift Station. The climb (was free of snow) is moderately steep with some steep short sections.
Once on the ridge I turned/climbed left (west) on a good trail, past a Communication Tower at 100M and continued the undulating climb west on the very rocky ridge for another 500-600M to the summit. On this day I had to deal with a lot of deep/soft snow making the going somewhat more difficult than it would normally be without the snow. An electrical ground cable from the Ski Station follows the trail all the way to the tall Communication Tower 100M west of the summit.
The rocky summit has a super 360 degree panorama, reminding me of Mont Ham, the rocky ridge offers constant views throughout its length. There is a large badly torn canvas sheet anchored to the rock just 15-20 feet of the summit (for reasons unknown?), near it is a small Marker embedded in the rock "Quebec Photogrammetrie".
My GPS at the highpoint of the rocky summit read 46.02972, 71.20502.
