Ascent Trip ReportCamped just outside the wilderness, in the Trail Canyon, after driving from Flagstaff, Az. Met two other highpointers, Doug and Sarah, from Ohio at the camp site. They were also aiming at the climb.
We started in good pace in the morning and got to the scramble where Don Holmes says there is a use trail. We didn't really see it and switchbacked below it. Found the way to the summit, though. Some quick lunch and then a quick look at Montgomery Peak. No Way!
We didn't have to hard to find the use trail going down. Met Dogh and Sarah again and set a plan to meet in Bishop that night.
We hiked out and drove to Bishop. Nice highpointing dinner with new friends.
This is our 30th state highpoint and the last bagged when still living in the US. A good accomplishemnt after three years in the Pittsburgh area.
