Ascent Trip Report

Hiked the Spruceton Trail 1.7 miles until it turned sharply to the right. Took a compass bearing for the summit and headed just slightly west of magnetic north. Put the crampons on at about 3500' as the snow and ice became fairly consistent. Found the canister without too much trouble and made my way back down to the Spruceton Trail by picking up the tributary of Hunter Brook that flows almost directly due south on the south face of Rusk between its two peaks.
