Ascent Trip Report

Parked in the parking lot on Prospect Rd. while driving through the area. There is an information sign where maps of the Reservation are available. Walked to the trailhead which is located between a private driveway and the access road for the transmission towers and water tanks located on the hill.

A nice pleasant walk on the trail that parallels the driveway until a point even with the house. There, the trail heads through the wood until the coming to the field where the Solstice Stones are located. The trail is wide and easy to find.

The USGS marker for the top of the hill is located between the Solstice Stones and the fire tower. There is a manmade berm around the water tanks that is higher than this point. It was a clear day and the buildings of downtown Boston could be viewed to the south along with landmarks in the surrounding towns.

From the top of the hill, I took the Graham Trail down the east side of the hill and looped through lower ground along the farms on the south edge of the hill.

All, and all, it was a beautiful day for a stroll though the woods.
