Ascent Trip Report

Easy accessible by car from Vilnius, the capitol of Lithuania. You have to take the A3 route to Minsk (south-east of Vilnius), then after approx. 20 km you turn right to the village of Medininkai (look for the road sign). After approx. 8 km from the A3, as you approach the Medininkai you have to turn right again in the direction of the village Jouzapine. You pass the medieval castle on the left and then after 1-1,2 km you have to leave the paved road and turn right for another 600 metres (there is an old sign Jouzapine Kalnas - which supposed to be the highest point of Lithuania before it was verified in mid 90s). From Jouzupine Kalnas you can walk to Aukstojas, which is on the west.

You may also find a short GPS track from my mobile phone. It is note prefectly precise, but it may help you to find the path. The graphic shows the way from the place where we left our car to the Aukstojas top:)
