Ascent Trip ReportWe got to the parking lot at about 8 a.m. The trail was muddy at first, and we had to walk on wooden planks. After a few minutes, the trail got steeper. Later on, we got to a nice lookout spot. The "Caps" and other Presidential peaks were visible from there. There were also these odd pothole-looking things in a rock.
After a while, we got to the first Cap. It was tough to get up it, and some parts were steep and had drop-offs. We took a break at the top of the first cap, and went on to the second Cap. That was about as tough as the first cap.
We had gotten through both caps, and went on to the summit. There were a few false peaks that threw me off, but we eventually made it. It was a little windy and hazy, but there were no clouds on top. I could see the Mt. Washington Auto Road and the cars on it from the top. We then went down; I was nervous about going down the caps, but it wasn't bad, and we got back to the truck in half the time it took to hike up.
