Ascent Trip Report

A guided x-country walk ..... 600 yards, 15 minutes RT.

From Fayette Co HP (Dumpling Hill) we drove north on 41 to the village of South Solon where we made a left on Main Street (stop light, 323 goes right). We continued west on Main Street for 4.1 miles to the intersection with Selma Jamestown Road, turned right and went north 1.8 miles to London Road on the right (at the sign "Clark County Line").
We turned right and drove east on London Road .8 miles to the intersection with Wildman Road (northeast) on the left, on the right is house #7257, all of which are in Clark County. The Greene Highpoint is southwest behind the house, on a straight line with Wildman Road at about 300 yards. All as reported in Bob Schwab's TR of 2001.

In view of the access issue (from this intersection) as reported 10 years ago we decided to update this issue. The owner of #7257, Tyler, had to jump out of the shower to answer the door, he wouldn't allow access unescorted, said he'd lead me out back in an hour. He was somewhat leery, "I don't know you, I've had a number of jerks acting as if they owned the place, I had to kick one guy out as he kept on insisting of building an Antenna Tower on my property." I told him we'd wait in the car.
Tyler was out in 20 minutes, he led me to the rear of his property (southwest) to the obvious highground at an open grassy bump at about 300 yards from the road (about 50 yards past a row of trees/bushes). Tyler waited at the bottom of the bump as I walked-up to the highground.
The PB coordinates puts the spot in the row of trees/bushes, I didn't take readings of the grassy bump cause I didn't want to keep Tyler waiting.

During our walk I learned that he has 120 acres of land, presently retired but wants to start his own private business. I thanked Tyler for his help. I must say however that I felt like I was bothering him, not the warmest reception although he did help me and of course that's the bottom line. Be friendly/suck-up if you want access to his property.
