Ascent Trip Report
From I95,exit 77 we traveled west on #78 to its junction with #21 in Branchville, we took a left and went south on #21 for 6.4 miles to Buckhead Road (S-15-48) on the right (on the way we crossed #61 at 5.9 miles and entered Colleton County shortly there-after). We parked at this corner which is the high ground.
PB puts the spot beside the road, definitely not natural. I walked both sides of #21/Buckhead at this corner, and I concluded that high ground is in the woods to the north. I stomped around in circles a good 250 yards before randomly choosing a more realistic spot at 40 yards in, 33.16576, 80.80744. This is one large flat area ..... good luck. We moved on to Bamberg County on our way to Augusta for the night.
