Ascent Trip ReportMy 68th COHP, 36th in NC, and 5th of the day.
The road names have changed so much that I had to double-check that I was in the right place. If you are coming from Mooresville or Kannapolis, note that NC 136 is now NC 3. This is a tribute to the car number made famous by Dale Earnhardt, who grew up in this area. Road signs call it Mooresville Road.
The eastern area is along Earnhardt Lake Road. To reach the western areas, take Sugar Hill and Vinewood roads. There is no golf course--maybe it used to be a driving range. My guess is that the highest point is in the auto junkyard.
