Ascent Trip ReportGot out of class around 2pm, so I headed to McGinty for a quick hike. Left the trailhead along Jamul Rd at 2:40. Topped out at 3:40. Lots of wildlife here. I saw at least 10 rabbits, 15 lizards, and heard a lot of insects chirping. The highlight was a huge rattlesnake about halfway up. It blocked the trail and rattled at me, so I had to go around it after a few minutes of waiting for it to go away. View from the top is great. No summit register. Saw 2 people as I was going up and 2 more as I was going down.
