Ascent Trip Report

Dirt road sb/x-country eb ....... 1 mile, 40 minute RT. This TR updates all previous reports.

From I95, exit49, we traveled west on GA251, stayed left at 3.2 miles on Holland Road (251 bears right), and continues another 9.4 miles to a left on a paved unsigned road, heading SW (Google names it Plum Orchard Cemetery Road), this road is 100 yards past signed Steve Bridge Road on the right.
Follow this paved road as it winds through beautiful pine woods for 1.1 miles to a sharp bend right, on the left is a gravel road with a broken yellow gate 30 yards in. This is the trail to the Highpoint, Parked here, this was my TH. In dry weather one is able to drive this road.

I walked the gravel road generally south (gravel gives way to sand at 100 yards) for .4 miles. On your left is a north-south ridge recently forested exceptionally clean of all vegetation (its bare). I turned left (east) and climbed 150 yards to the top of the ridge. I chose my high spot at 31.49199, 81.60163. PB puts the spot at a lower elevation.
You are in a large open area surrounded by pine woods, waiting to be felled.
