Ascent Trip Report

Late summer snow the week before left several inches of snow in the north facing chutes which had to be crossed. Snowtop melting and re-freezing left a glaze of ice on the very steep snow. Too dangerous to cross without ice axe or crampons. Snow and ice prevented climbing around the chutes. Retreated 300 feet below the summit ridge to hike another day.
