Ascent Trip Report

Located north of Deland, from downtown Deland we drove north on 17 for 4.8 miles to the stop light at the intersection with 15A, where we turned right (north) on 15A and at .9 miles turned right onto Trail In The Pines, the brick entrance reads "The Pines". At 150 yards we turned into the driveway to the right, house #3460, knocked at the door and the friendly lady gladly gave us permission to go into her backyard, saying "Your more than welcome to walk around, we've had a number of people here with the same request, I personally don't know the exact spot".

The obvious bump is on her manicured lawn, I thought I'd find a marker since it's been reported that a surveyor told the previous owner that he owned the highpoint. I didn't find anything, I chose my spot at 29.09417, 81.31477. The PB coordinates puts the spot in a lower elevation.

"IN THE END, IT'S NOT GOING TO MATTER HOW MANY BREATHS WE TOOK ...... BUT HOW MANY MOMENTS TOOK YOUR BREATH AWAY."
