Ascent of Mount Davidson on 2011-02-22 Climber: Walter Blume Others in Party: Marcel Date: Tuesday, February 22, 2011 Ascent Type: Successful Summit Attained     Motorized Transport to Trailhead: Car Peak: Mount Davidson     Location: USA-California     Elevation: 925 ft / 281 m Ascent Trip Report A perfect nearly cloudless day greeted us on summit day as we neared the trailhead, our underpowered economy rent-a-car groaning under the strain of the thirty degree incline presented by Dalewood Way.  A maze of possible trails greeted us and I set out on the widest of them. My son chose to take a shortcut and soon came to a dead-end. He chose to blaze a new trail through thick blackberry bramble, eventually summiting a good 15 minutes after me, clothes torn, but otherwise unscathed, and hopefully untouched by poison oak.    The summit itself is clearly marked.  Indeed it would be hard to miss even if you were legally blind.  An overlook 100 meters from the summit offered a spectacular 270 degree view of the entire San Francisco bay area including nearby highpoints of Mt Tamalpais and Mt Diablo.  The descent was uneventful.
