Ascent Trip Report

Visited this area with my wife a day after we ran the MV 20 mile race. We parked at the trailhead off of Pasture Road, following previously-posted directions. It took about 20 minutes to drive here from our starting point in Edgartown.

The blazed trails are signed and well-maintained. From the trailhead, we ran for a minute or two and saw the high point off to the left. I took a faint trail that went maybe 10 meters to the two boulders at the top.

There is no view from the highpoint, but we continued running along the main trail and were quickly rewarded with some outstanding ocean views. We would have stopped for a while to take it all in, but the cold winds were pretty intense. We continued exploring the trail network for a while, and also ran up the nearby Peaked Hill, seeing some nice views from there as well.

We didn't see any snow on the ground on our weekend visit to the island, but back home in New Hampshire we've still got lots of it!
