Ascent Trip ReportShort sand track hike and bushwack ..... about half a mile RT for all areas.
This County has 4 candidate highpoint Areas, all on the long north/south summit area above the 200 foot contour, covered with extremely dense/rough vegetation. I followed the route directions in Gene Daniels' TR of 2002 and had no problem getting to the four different Areas, however finding the exact spot for the different areas is not easy ..... I stomped the areas in dense/rough vegetation to fight through. For Area 1 ...... I chose my spot at coordinates 27.18283, 81.33916, PB puts it in a lower area,
The gate at hwy 8 was open on this day and tempting to proceed, however I went to the Information Office (at the far end of the building) located half a mile to the west, the girl had no problem. I got the feeling that if the gate is open permission is not required.
